Weeks 25 & 26

In Loving Memory of my Granddaddy
Carl Justin Scivicque
September 5, 1928 - April 19, 2012

We named our little girl after my Grandfather. I am so sad that they will not get to meet here on this earth, but honored that she will share his name. I was able to tell Granddaddy that we were naming this baby girl after him and he was tickled pink! He left such a legacy and I am so grateful for the impact he made on my life and countless others.

We can't wait to meet you, Carley Sophia!

Week 25

Week 26

How far along: 26 weeks 2 days

Total Weight Gain: 16 pounds
Miss anything: being able to bend over to pick something up like a lady

Enjoying: Feeling Baby Girl move, the stranger that smiles warmly who was always cold when ordering his coffee before, and pregnancy foot rubs from Chris (it's so much easier to talk him into giving me one nowadays!!)

Movement: She is getting stronger everyday. I can see my belly move beneath my clothes and Chris can feel her all the time now. She loves dancing to the music when we put the iPhone on my belly and doesn't like feeling squished when I lean to far forward - she kicks in protest.

Food Cravings: I didn't realize it until this past week when I was finishing my second jar of peanut butter (since November) how much I have really been wanting it the whole time I've been pregnant. I *might* have gone through 1 jar in 2 years prior to me being pregnant. Sweets have definitely lost some of their appeal, but it's still up from pre-pregnancy.

Symptoms: waddling is becoming more natural than walking, swelling hands and feet at the end of the day, going to the bathroom 4 times a night, and I think I finally have a bit of the pregnancy glow going on -- or maybe that's just since I'm hot all the time?

Feelings: I can't believe I only have 14 weeks left to go! It's gone by SO fast and we are both so excited to meet our daughter. Chris finished cleaning out the nursury (LOVE this man!) and I can't wait to get started on her room!

Size of baby to fruit comparison: About as long as an English cucumber, 15 inches from head to toe and weighing in at 2 pounds

Week 24

How far along: 24 weeks 2 days

Total weight gain: 14 pounds

Sleep: Oh man, I have been having some crazy vivid dreams lately! So I guess that means I'm technically sleeping good since I'm dreaming, but I wake up so restless that it doesn't feel like it. I woke up so upset at Chris for something that happened in my dream and I had to tell myself it wasn't real!!

Best Moment this Week: Coming home to a clean bathroom. Have I mentioned how much I love my husband? :) I've also been able to pack up a little bit more of the junk...er, baby's...room and Chris has been moving that out to the storage shed this week. Feels great to finally be making some progress in there.

Movement: More and more every day! I looove it!!

Food Cravings: Still on the sweets kick. And latelyI have been craving peanut butter, banana and honey sandwiches. So yummy!!

Symptoms: crazy dreams, my hands and feet start to swell at the end of the day or when I get hot (which is now more than ever), some lower back pain, and craving sweets.

Looking forward to: A prenatal massage tomorrow!!!!

Size of baby: About the size of an eggplant; 9 inches long and a little over 1.5 pounds.

Week 23

How far along: 23 weeks 3 days

Total weight gain: 13 pounds...yikes!

Best Moment this Week: I went to my first consignment sale this week for baby clothes. I bought some sweet little outfits and didn't spend a ton of money doing it so I was super excited. I also started the baby registery at Target which was a little daunting... but makes it feel even more real. Chris has really been able to feel her now so that's excited being able to share that with him.

Miss anything: Getting in and out of the car without feeling like I'm squishing something.

Looking forward to: Spending Easter with my parents and celebrating my Dad's 50th birthday.

Movement: Yup! Keeping me up at night now since her kicks have gotten a little harder. It's such a weird feeling, because I definitely want my sleep... but I just lay there waiting for her to move again so I can feel her one more time before I go to sleep. It's comforting in a way.

Food Cravings: I have really enjoyed more than my fair share of Easter candy this year.

Symptoms: After driving 4 hours today, I have really felt the difference in my back. I was so ready to get out of the car. My feet start to swell at the end of the day, and my hands after salty foods.

Size of Baby to Fruit Comparison: About the length of an ear of corn, 8.5" from crown to rump and weighs over 1.5 pounds! My first time of many to say it... "She's growing so fast!"

Feelings: I realized I have just a little over 16 weeks to go and while I am looking forward to meeting Baby Girl, I have officially gone into freaking out/nesting mode because there is SO much that needs to be done.
